Conservation

Saving the Rhino

The black and white African rhino are two of only five rhino species left, with the black rhino listed as critically endangered and the white rhino as near threatened.

We're not just saving rhinos. Rhinos are umbrella species, which means that the efforts to conserve them also benefit a number of other species that share their habitat. Also, as ‘charismatic mega-herbivores' these gentle giants spark the imagination and tug at people's heartstrings, helping to mobilize conservation resources that have a wider impact than just saving the rhino.
